Eagles Legend Nick Foles Announces Retirement

QB Whose "Philly Special" Led Eagles to Super Bowl Title Ends Career

Longtime NFL Quarterback Nick Foles has retired from the National Football League, the Philadelphia Eagles announced.

Foles, who spent three seasons with the Eagles from 2017-2019, led the team to its only Super Bowl victory in franchise history in the 2017 season. The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII, with Foles being named the game's MVP.

Foles' retirement brings an end to an 11-year NFL career that saw him play for the Eagles, Rams, Chiefs, Jaguars, Bears, and Colts. He threw for 14,003 yards and 82 touchdowns in his career, while also rushing for 1,005 yards and eight touchdowns.

Foles' legacy in Philadelphia will be forever remembered for his role in the Eagles' Super Bowl win. His "Philly Special" play, a trick play in which he caught a touchdown pass from Trey Burton in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, is considered one of the most iconic plays in NFL history.

The Eagles owe a great deal of gratitude to Foles for his contributions to the franchise. He will always be remembered as a Philadelphia legend.
