Officials Respond as Bear Takes Refuge in Tree at Lone Tree Park Meadows Mall

Authorities are tracking a black bear that wandered into a Douglas County neighborhood near Acres Green Elementary School on Monday, August 22nd.

Public Urged to Report Sightings

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officials are working to dart and relocate the bear, which made a more than a mile-long trek.

As of 10 am, the bear had moved into Lone Tree, where authorities were continuing to track it. Residents are urged to report any sightings to CPW.
